BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Two Southeast Missouri State field athletes were honored by the Ohio Valley Conference on Wednesday. Samantha Espiricueta was named the league’s Female Field Athlete of the Week and Josh Uchtman was selected as the Male Field Athlete of the Week.
Both athletes performed well in their first outdoor meet of the season this past Saturday at the Rhodes College Open Meet.
Uchtman returned to the throwing pits after nearly a year off recovering from hip surgery to post a second place finish in the discus. His throw of 164′-0.00″ tops the OVC and ranks 31st nationally.
